The Chocolate Experience at Cadbury Tasmania
A new chocolate experience will bring back to life one of Tasmania’s most beloved attractions: the Cadbury factory site at Claremont. Welcome to the world’s most extraordinary chocolate experience!
Opening late 2027, the project is the culmination of 15 years research and collaboration by Simon Currant and Associates and Cadbury. This new icon for Hobart will offer a world of chocolate delights, wonder and excitement, incorporating Chocolate Central, the Chocolate Immersion Experience, and the Premium Chocolate Studio featuring the delectable flavours of Tasmanian ingredients.

A Uniquely Tasmanian Story
The experience will celebrate everything we love about Tasmanian provenance and a century of Cadbury's history in Tasmania.
From crafting personalised bars, to creating fine chocolates from scratch, to stepping into the shoes of chocolate factory workers, the experience places the visitor in the centre of all things chocolate-making.
Topped off with a dessert degustation in the decadent Chocolate Lounge and a visit to the Chocolate Emporium, every visitor can sample and select from an abundant array of premium chocolate.
The experience will host a Chocolate Studio which will manufacture bespoke Cadbury chocolates with ingredients from Tasmanian growers and producers. The Studio will support education partnerships, career pathways, and school work experience opportunities.
Access to the chocolate experience will be via the river Derwent on two new purpose-built themed ferries, built in Hobart and operated by Tasmanian-owned and operated Navigators Group, arriving at the new Cadbury Claremont ferry terminal.

The project will beautify the Claremont waterfront, provide a new jetty terminal at the Claremont factory, enhance public walkways and extend the Hobart Foreshore cycleway.
Project Team
Simon Currant and Associates have worked with Mondelēz for 15 years on visitor experience concepts for the Cadbury brand in Australia and New Zealand. Simon Currant, as Founder and Managing Director, oversees all aspects of the project, and David Inches is Project Director.
The project team will include Tasmania's most skilled and experienced consultants and agencies, including Cumulus Studio as project architect, Art Processors for experience design and ERA Planning as planning consultants. Renowned Tasmanian ferry operators, the Navigators Group, will build and operate the services between Hobart and Claremont.
